About "Şeşê Sibê"
The album HINAR is the original creation of an urban musician who blends the depths
of Kurdish folklore with, ethno-synth/pop and ballad styles. The album consists of nine
songs, all of the lyrics and most of the compositions are by Rewşan. This unique work
adds unique colours to individual songs by skilfully using traditional instruments such as
zurna and kaval in its sound, which is interwoven with modern production techniques.
Carrying the rich cultural heritage of Mesopotamia, the Kurdish geography has also
been the site of exile and the search for rights. At a time when historical and social
experiences often confine Kurdish culture to a political framework, the album HINAR
goes beyond these moulds and presents a brand new poetic narrative.
Rewşan invites the listener on a journey into the depths of the soul in today's world
where every word and emotion is confined to an identity definition. These voices rising
from the world of an artist who draws her strength from inner discovery, searching for
her own voice, blending love, disappointments and passion for freedom with grace,
transform into a universal musical language.
The album also reinterprets many of the Kurdish idioms that have almost disappeared
with a contemporary musical language. For example, the Kurdish idiom "ne dibê him, ne
dibê gim" - an ancient expression describing the inactive times when we cannot hear
the voice of truth - takes on a new meaning in the poetic world of the album.
With its literary depth and contemporary musical approach, HINAR invites its listeners
on a special journey, while bringing to the present day the vanishing literary value of
Kurdish folklore. Like the petals of a rose in velvet elegance, this album, every note of
which opens to freedom and every word to an inner journey, says hello to every soul in
search of its own voice.
