About "Alone With A Ghost"
One of the tracks from my Promotion album, 'Ion - My Golden Seeds' that was also recorded 'live in the studio.' Actually, when the expert musicians and I had rehearsed this particular song, I was so confident that they all knew it by heart, so as I felt tired, I took a nap on the leather sofa. In deep sleep, I was suddenly awakened by a voice saying, 'Ion, it's time for your lead vocals!' and I remember getting up and with closed eyes, sitting down on a bar stool, throughout the entire duration of this song, recording it all in this 'first-take.' Whatever I whispered and sang, is therefore exactly what you hear on this track, as it went straight 'in the box' with nothing else added, other than the eerie sound of my co-producer, Mads Eggert's mixing chair, which I spontaneously felt inspired to drag in front of the microphone, to create the spooky intro, resembling the sound of someone or something opening a rusty old door...
Inspired by the film music of Enio Morricone, and other similar spaghetti westerns like that, this song ought to end up in a movie, as it is a very visual song. The lyrics stem from an experience I had, on the street of Copenhagen, where I saw a ghostly-haunted mad-man, speaking to himself. Seeing this, I immediately sat down on a bench and wrote the entire song down, as you hear it recorded. Having the pleasure and privilege of working with such special souls, naturally gifted musicians and artists, fully capable of recording the entire song, all on their own, after having rehearsed it well with me, was an unforgettable experience, I cherish deeply, as I acknowledge the expertise of all those blessed individuals, from around the world...
