Producer Angus McNaughton and Moana sampled haka slaps, stamps, taonga puoro, poi to rework a traditional waiata composed by Hareruia Aperahama. An important early mentor to Moana, Ruia recorded tauparapara and the song to a traditional Maori hand-game for Tahi.
