ABOUT
A journey on the Mediterranean Sea, through ancient Sephardic songs, re-arranged with fresh and modern sounds in order to emphasize all the Mediterranean cultures involved in this tradition and to show how these ancient songs carry actual and important meanings.

Andalusia, Greece, Turkey, the Balkans, Morocco... a bridge over the Mediterranean Sea and also between past and present times, thanks to the use of instruments belonging to different areas and ages.

During the Middle Ages, Sephardim lived on the Iberian Peninsula together with Christians and Arab Muslims; their stories, handed down orally, mixed with Andalusian melodies and Arabic rhythms, creating a very rich musical mixture.

The many influences are expressed thanks to two multi-instrumentalists, dealing with modern and ancient instruments, like the guitar, Turkish saz, Arabic oud, soprano sax, darbuka, cajon, and frame drums.

Namritha Nori sings in the traditional Sephardic language, called Judezmo, and introduces listeners to the deep meanings of songs, dealing especially with love, in its depths of passion and pain.
