About "For Toumani, Jono Heyes - Recorded Live, in a Beehive"
THE SONG:

For Toumani, is a blessing song for Jono's first born son, Toumani, named after an inspirational encounter with the great Kora player Toumani Diabate. The songs weaves afro-beat groove with instrumental pivots, and wild build up that reaches an ecstatic climax.

ABOUT THE ALBUM:
With seven musicians from New Zealand, the Czech Republic, France and Sweden, we recorded and filmed live for eight days in the Czech Bohemian Forest, in a Beehive Studio.

The innovative album of original songs takes the listener on a worldwide tour whilst exploring existential themes.

Unique and beautiful tonal colours from Jono Heyes' homemade acoustic instruments and draws upon diverse influences from the Sahara, Mongolia, Africa, Cuba, Eastern Europe and beyond.

The album was co-produced, recorded and mixed by Jerry Boys, Grammy Award engineer known for his excellent live acoustic recording skills with projects like Buena Vista Social Club, Toumani Diabate, Omare Sangare and many others.
