Hamdel Ensemble

Dear Sir/Madam, I am a musician and composer performing with my band "HAMDEL Ensemble". Below is a short introduction of our band and the music we perform. I believe what we do is unique and relevant for your program. I would like to declare my interest to perform in your festival. HAMDEL is a Contemporary Mystic & Sufi Music ensemble formed in 1997, creating and performing in the world music genre. The group's aim is to gather and interpret traditional world folk & Sufi music for a global audience, incorporating language, culture, and history, as well as adapting traditional instruments to contemporary rhythms. Musicians of Hamdel are experts who studied music and conducted extensive research into world music and graduated from well-known universities. They have all been involved in numerous projects and performances on the international stage. The group's founder and leader, Seyed Ali Jaberi, is an accomplished musician and composer from Iran who has produced and directed performances of the Hamdel group in multiple countries. Their last performance was called "All Because of Love" at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester. Hamdel has recorded a number of well-received albums, of which "Psalms of Loneliness" is the most successful, receiving 4 stars from Songlines magazine. Hamdel is currently involved in initiatives to promote the 13th-century mystic Sufi and poet Molana Rumi using freshly composed music and Sufi dance.
