The Yike is a rare and ancient music, dance and art form probably originating from the time of the Kingdom of Champa around one thousand years ago in Cambodia. The King of the Chham was beaten in battle by the King of Angkor and the Kingdom of Champa became part of what we know now as Cambodia. This music descends from the Ethnic Minority Chham people and is probably a mix of Malay and Khmer.

Here our two Yike masters perform "Chauo Alay". They both teach at our school and are considered national living treasures in the art of the Yike.
