Fouta is a song of thanks to a village who looked after a weary Amadou Diagne many years ago when he travelled to Mauritania. The journey was to find his cousin who had gone to find work years earlier. Weary and with no money left, the village gave him and his travelling companion food and enough money to get to their destination. They found the cousin who was so overjoyed that they came such a long way. The song has a very catchy chorus and an infectious beat with some of Amadou's unique guitar slapping technique.
