Aphelele Sixtus Khumalo, born in Mzimkulu at Barnabas on January 23, 1998. Known as professional Aplas a South African rapper and songwriter.
Aplas began his musical journey during his time at St Barnabas JSS, starting with a deep love for music at a young age. His passion for music was ignited by observing the South African traditional music group Isicathamiya practicing after school. This led him to join a group called New Singers in 2010, where he competed with various other groups in the area called Home boyz, Angels, Inkululeko (ETC)

Aplas was Inspired by artists named Sno Mbhele, who was a rapper, Aplas was motivated to start writing his own music. In 2011, he and his friends formed a group called T.K.M Squad, consisting of Aplas, and was the professional artist in his group of music, Mgqwaba, and Ntsika Radebe, with Kwanda as their producer. They released their first song "Izandla" which was well-received by the listeners.

In 2012, Aplas moved to Xobho and collaborated with new friends to form a group named Young Rockerz (YR), where he served as the leader. Together with Mabura and Young Rhooler, they released hit songs like "Satanism Must Fall," "Ama Hater," and "Okumnandi," which garnered love and support from fans.

In 2014, after facing challenges within his group, Aplas and Mabura decided to form a new group called the Oqif Squad (Ongqondo Nqqondo Ixopo Feras Squad). They released a mixtape titled "Ezidla Nga Flow," which featured the hit song "Abanani ft NQO."

By 2016, Aplas ventured into a solo career, releasing an EP in 2017 titled "Isqalo EP." Over the years, he continued to release single tracks in 2021 and another EP called "Ten Years of Music Journey EP." Further in his journey, Aplas released EPs such as "Vulindlebe EP" featuring Shinga Lembelo in 2022, and "Umzimkhulu and Ixopo EP" in collaboration with Shinga Lemvelo, Queen Em, and Crazy H.

In 2020, Aplas expanded his involvement in the music scene by organizing events in partnership with Thembelani Ngcobo, Speshile, and Testic, forming the event company "Union of Artists Music Festival." The first event took place at Fair View Hall in Ixopo in May 2022, followed by another successful event in Highflats in September. Future plans include hosting an event in Mzimkhulu Park in 2023.

A significant milestone for Aplas was in March 2024 when they hosted a grand event at Fair View Hall, the "Union of Artists Music Festival," featuring performances from prominent artists like Inyoni Emhlophe, Umbuzeni, Jumbo, Chwane Lebaca, and Baba Mkhanyela of Bagobhi. In the same year, Aplas released a major song titled "I Jabula ft Crazy H," further solidifying his musical career.

In 2021, Aplas achieved success by winning a competition in Xopo, which was a significant milestone in his music career. The following year, he continued to soar, winning the Studio Mashakeni competition and securing the top spot in the Ubhelebzew competition.
