The origin of this Kurdish folk song traces back to the Balkans, and it has been sung in many different languages. It is known as "Drama Köprüsü in Turkish and ''To Gefiri Tis Dramas'' in Greek both mean ''The Bridge of Drama''.

The lyrics of the song say:
Mejnun’s eyes is spring to me.
It is night, late, my heart is hurting
I’m Zin and you are Mem, the world is full of cruelty
You are a prisoner, and I’m a gazelle in the hands of a hunter
