About "Für mein neues Vaterland"
After the demise of Germany as a land of poets and philosophers, there was a perpetual lack of positive national symbols in the country. As a response, this song was created for the celebration of German Unification Day, October 3rd, 2013, in Stuttgart
City Hall. The singers of the Orchester der Kulturen tell of their personal experiences of leaving their old homes and the long journey to a new spiritual home in Germany.
