When we produced our 1st musical „Symphony of Our Lives“ with refugees from Afghanistan & Syria in 2016, a young girl played this piece to our composer Adrian Werum, accompanied by images of the Palestinians‘ struggle for their homeland. Impressed by the pathos and spirit of this piece, Adrian Werum combined it with Ludwig van Beethoven‘s “Ode to Joy”, which over the centuries has repeatedly inspired peo-ples all over the world to fight for freedom and dignity: for example in the struggle of the Chilean people against Pinochet, as well as in Tiananmen Square in 1989, and not least, at the fall of the Berlin Wall in that same year
