5 new female world music singers you should hear (Niasony @ CBC)

With the pantheon of world music divas including powerful singers like Angelique Kidjo, Cesaria Evora and Lila Downs, you can imagine how some might stick with the tried and true and miss out on up-and-comers. But we’re not going to let that happen.
