Matthew Weinman—Renaissance Lute, Theorbo, Cittern, Bandora, Baroque Guitar, Renaissance Guitar, Vihuela. Matthew resides in New Jersey and graduated from the Mannes College of Music in Historical Performance and earned his Master's in Music from Columbia University. He has published The Renaissance Fake Book, The Continuo Player's Book of Grounds, and Popular Elizabethan Lute Music among other works for Turtles & Twins Press, for which he is editor and proprietor. Mr. Weinman is also a composer for the lute, harpsichord, and consort music, demonstrating his vast knowledge of 16th and early 17th-century compositional forms as a stimulus to invention. His works have been published by the Lute Society of England and The Lute Society of America. Mr. Weinman studied Renaissance Lute, Theorbo, Vihuela, and Baroque Guitar with Pat O'Brien and Paul O'Dette. Music Theory and Composition Studies with Dan Cataneo, David Loeb, and Dr. Robert Cuckson. Matthew Weinman is a core founding member of The Bacheler Consort and has been performing, teaching, and composing for 30 years.
