Dudik Feldman died on the first day of the Yom Kippur War in 1973 at the age of 26. As a young soldier in the Six Day War, he had kept a war diary, which he added to it sporadically between the end of the 1967 war and the 1973 war. After his experiences as a young man at war, he became very anti-war. Joanie Calem read through his diary, and using his words, created this song in Hebrew and English.
