About "Memo"
This track is part of the album PianOLAternA Vol.2, which contains 7 covers of songs that belong to the category known as cafe aman songs of the 78rpm recordings of the beginning of the 20th century. All the songs are arranged for piano and voice, in a quest of finding the way that the piano can perform the eastern mediterranean musical modal system on the greekspeaking repertoire.

*The story behind: Memo was a young soldier who went to battle and left his wife with his mother back home. Many years later he came back and slept with his wife. His mother saw a man lying in the bed with her daughter in law, but could not recognise it is her son, so she killed him. "Memo" was a very big success as a song back in the end of the 19th century, sang both in turkish and greek.
