This track, recorded by Lee Redfield at Liberty Studios in Austin, TX, Oct. 2019, is a performance of Indian classical music by a trio consisting of Amie Maciszewski on sitar, Deepak Paramashivan on sarangi, and Shiv Naimpally on tabla. We improvised on a traditional raag called Shivranjani. I named the track Cycle of Renewal because the shifting minor-major pentatonic quality of the raag creates for me a feeling of the cycle of foreboding-destruction-revival.
