ABOUT
Transidelia is a 6-member band based in Athens, GR.
Their sound balances a mixture of traditional but contemporary grooves with an ambient, psychedelic interaction, leading to an unorthodox musical outcome derived from local traditions.
The choice to combine the electric element with traditional instruments creates a hybrid concept; looking back at the imprints of the past while giving a personal perspective of today's musical society.
Their first single was released in March 2019, including original transcriptions of well-known musical traditions around Greece, expressing their personal music style. It was recorded and filmed live at Magnanimous Recording Studio in Thessaloniki.
Almost a year later, they entered Ahos Studio to record their first full album ‘ANATOLI’, carrying on as a follow-up to the exploration through traditions and dialects of the various Greek tribes, including compositions with unique mood aesthetics, which form the identity of the new album, highlighting their existence. The first track released is "Leñó", which comes from the tradition of Drama. Keeping the original song pulse of “sirtos”, a popular dance in the northern regions of Greece; Transidelia’s ‘Leñó’ aims to bring yesterday’s sentiment into today’s perception.
The distinct reality of each one of them reacts to the surroundings, referring to cultures of the past; reflecting common experiences, creating the soundscape of the album ‘ANATOLI’.
Considering tradition as the path towards creative explosion, they use that awkward combination of sounds consciously to present their emotions and concerns of today.
