In 1995 the nations of the world
gathered with one aim: to combat climate change.

And 2017’s the deadline experts have locked in.

We hoped our leaders would do the job, but hope has been misplaced.
They’ve talked and talked and talked and talked, forever saving face.
One cries poor. One disagrees. “It’s all a crying shame.”
“We’re quite small.” “We need to grow.” They claim and counter-claim.

We’ve wasted over 20 years.
Let’s not waste 20 more.
Roll your sleeves up.
Get to work.
We’ve got to save the world.

So many years, so little done. I call that a disgrace,
while deserts grow and seas invade and storm clouds set the pace?
The time to talk has clearly passed. The time to act is now.
Our voices, votes and spending power can let our leaders know…

…we’ve wasted over 20 years.
Let’s not waste 20 more.
Roll your sleeves up.
Get to work.
We’ve got to save the world.

Plant more forests. Use less oil.
Leave that coal in the ground.
Give more incentives for renewable energy.
We can do more of these right now.
