I composed this guitar solo decades ago, during my early days as a musician, to salute some of the finest maestros of Indian classical music. Mallikarjun Mansur, Kumar Gandharva, Ali Akbar Khan, Nikhil Banerjee, and a few others had greatly inspired me to embark on my musical journey. And it is they who inspired me to come up with this composition as a tribute to their contribution in my life. Like I say, 'Tribute' was composed long back, but I officially released it only in 2011, as part of my album Depths of the Ocean with my current band, Susmit Sen Chronicles. This latest rendition was recorded recently.
