A Platform for Ethnically and Culturally Inspired Music
ABOUT
SMK, a self-trained music producer, rapper, vocalist, and songwriter, has special skills in writing songs and rapping. His vocal ability was obtained at birth from his mother. SMK has managed to work with Zakwe and Musiholiq on a song "Phakama" (meaning "Stand Up") presented by KZN Cypher. He managed to work with Musiholiq & Anzo on a "Gawulubheke Remix" and managed to remix Eminem's song "Beautiful Pain" ft. Sia and "Lighters" by Bad Meets Evil (Eminem vs. Royce Da 5'9").

As early as 15, while I was at junior music, it was just life. Coming from a poor background, there was a time in my life when I had to sleep without food in my stomach. I had a moment when I was into smoking dagga while trying to comfort myself, but then music took its place and took all that away. Now, if I want to cry, I do it through music; if I want to break the silence about something, I do it through music.

SMK is inspired by Eminem, particularly when Em was starting his career in music with the "8 Mile" movie and the whole music from "8 Mile." SMK can write a song about anything. He has composed two Maskandi hit tracks, more than seven Amapiano hit tracks, R&B songs, and one Gospel song. SMK is generally inspired by a lot of things: injustice, politics, and a poor background. SMK is so obsessed with making music; music is my way of communicating with my audience. This self-taught rapper has punchlines that you will need to sit down to understand, and alterations to make a song even better. SMK grew up in a musical family, despite the fact that most of my elders did not manage to record their music. The master of freestyle, I promise you, once SMK does a freestyle, you could think that it's a written song.
