ABOUT
Luazó is a project by French composer and guitarist Robin Gentien, written as a farewell and a tribute to Latin America. It was recorded in Buenos Aires a week before leaving the continent, after years of exile and travel. The name Luazó is the phonetic sound of the French word "L'oiseau," which means the bird.

Robin Gentien was born in 1993. He learned guitar and quickly started to dive into music in the Afro-jazz scene in Paris before leaving for Italy in 2012, where he joined the internationally famous theater company the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards.

With the company, he learned call and response songs as well as scenic presence and presented performances all around the world (Brazil, Europe, USA, Canada).

There he met Alejandro Tomas Rodriguez (Argentina), with whom he created the band Engine. In 2015, they left the company and moved to Buenos Aires. They recorded a first EP "Un día más sobre la Tierra" and started to tour, mainly in Brazil, Argentina, France, and quickly in New Mexico (USA), where they recorded their first LP "Si Viene la Muerte."

Robin Gentien is now back in Paris. He has crossed paths and shared stages, jams, or studio sessions with high-class musicians such as Vieux Farka Touré, Chongo de Colombia, or Trio da Kali.

He also composes for theater companies, like the Compagnie Hippocampe.
