Musique De Jalil

Moroccan-born musician who grew up in Ouarzazate in a family of musicians and artists, Jalil has traveled extensively across Europe in various bands in the practice of Gnawa music, including such festivals as Atlas - Austria Express. Since his settlement in Paris, Jalil has played with the Paroles Passagères, to name just one band, a band that highlights the essence of Gnawa music overlaid with poetry in the commanding voice of Erick Auguste. In his latest venture, Jalil turns back to his roots in a reflection of the life he has lived. Accompanying these reflective melodies is a modern twist with electronic music. These instrumentals lace the underlying structures of Gnawa music with a modern Parisian vibe that tells the story of a Moroccan in Paris.
