ABOUT
O'Laughlin produced the first Irish Genealogy broadcast series in 2006, publishes the classic 'Annals of Ireland by the Four Masters', and authors the Irish Family Project with a book on every county in Ireland. He is a noted singer in Irish (Gaeilge) and English, with three albums to his credit. Song styling includes sean nós (old style), and traditional Irish.

Vocalist with the Irish Roots Cafe house band, Mike performed in the first all-Irish language stage show of its kind in the Midwest at the Granada Theater. He was ranked as the #1 Celtic artist in the U.S. in 2012 on Reverbnation for nine months. The most published author in his field, since 1978 he has authored 60 books; 160 YouTube videos, 10 CDs; 300 podcasts; and over 1,000 articles. Having written books on every county in Ireland, he also publishes rare works in both Irish and English, including 'The Annals of Ireland by the Four Masters'.

Mike has received many honors for his performances. His was among the top 10 "Irish Traditional Albums of Song" in 2013 on Tradconnect out of Dublin; and he sang 'old style' at Gaelic Mass that year. His album 'Irish Song: Traditional and Sean Nós' is held in the Irish Traditional Music Archives in Dublin, Ireland today. His 'old style' songs are centuries old, in the Irish language, learned by ear, and with a sense of history. His English language songs range from traditional Irish and Scots, to American Vaudeville and Tin Pan Alley, with an occasional Cajun tune for even more variety.
