Keith Ramaila was born in Ga-Sekororo near Tzaneen, Limpopo. As with most special talents, Keith discovered a love for music early in life and was studying piano and singing in the church choir at the age of ten. By the time he had matriculated, Keith had joined a group called NVG's in Phalaborwa and, with them, toured the Northern Province. He later went solo and performed regularly at the Greater Phalaborwa Jazz Club.
Keith came to Johannesburg in 2003 with a demo in hand, hoping to take his career to the next level. Before long, he was performing at Moyo and the Shivava Café and gaining experience daily. He was also fortunate enough to meet Vusi Mahlasela, who saw a lot of potential in Keith and encouraged the young artist to continue pursuing his dream. Keith decided that the way forward was to find a company that believed in him as much as he believed in himself.
