A Platform for Ethnically and Culturally Inspired Music
ABOUT
Rembetika and Smyrneika are forms of music that were developing during the same period as blues and Fado.

They all talk about love, poverty, drugs, and prison with honesty. The music spread a century ago from, among other places, Piraeus harbor, mainly through the circuit of cafés where refugees gathered. The music arrived in the days following the exodus from Minor Asia (Turkey) to Greece at the beginning of the 20th century.

This is the music of my heart, and I like to perform the songs the way they were made, but also by experimenting with blues, swing, and world music influences.

Thank you, Katerina Tsiridou.
