“ДА СЕ ХВАНЕМ ЗА ЗЕЛЕНО”
На 25 март се празнува един от най-хубавите православни празници Благовещение. Преданието разказва как небето се отворило и при Дева Мария слязъл Божият ангел вестител Гавраил и и съобщил, че ще роди Божи син.
Камбаните на църквата известяват зачатието, а хората възкликват „Радвай се, благодатна, Господ е с тебе!“. Празникът се почита от много майки, тъй като Богородица е тяхна закрилница.
Бабите казват, че дойде ли Благовец, хората се хващат за зелено. Приготвя се супа от прясна коприва и в средата на трапезата се нареждат зеленчуци. Момичетата месят за първи път питка с мед, която раздават на съседи и роднини. Облича се нова дреха и на празничната трапеза се слага риба, обредна питка, мед и лучник.
Момите ще разберат дали ще се задомят, като поставят във вода лалета и изчакат три дни. Ако се разпъпят, ще се омъжат до края на годината.
На Благовещение се става рано, за да е богата годината. Хубаво е да носиш пара в джоба си. Вярва се, че ако те закука кукувица, за да имаш берекет, трябва да се хванеш за паричка. Гадае се по деня, каквото правиш и както премине той, такава ще е цялата година.
Според народните вярвания 25 март е благ ден, в който човек не чувства болка и раните заздравяват. На малките деца пробиват ушите и се бележат животните. Жените копаят градината, а мъжете пускат пчелите от кошерите.
Народът вярвал в пречистващата сила на огъня, затова възрастните разрешавали на деца и младежи да го прескачат за здраве. Който види летящ щъркел, ще е благословен през цялата година.
Вярвало се, че в нощта срещу Благовец от небитието идват духовете на починали, които приживе са укрили голямо съкровище и че където има закопано имане, в късна доба, срещу Благовец, парите излъчват син пламък изпод земята. Затова иманярите тръгват да обикалят могили, пресъхнали кладенци и запустели места, с надеждата да зърнат пламъка, който ще ги дари с богатство.
На Благовец небето се отваря и се сбъдват желания. Имен ден празнуват Блага, Благо, Благовест, Благовеста, Благой, Благойна, Вангелия, Ева и др.

March 25 is one of the best Orthodox holidays of the Annunciation. Legend has it that the heavens opened and the angel of God, Gabriel, descended to the Virgin Mary and announced that she would give birth to a son of God.
The church bells announce the conception, and the people exclaim, "Rejoice, gracious one, the Lord is with you!" The holiday is celebrated by many mothers, as the Mother of God is their patron.
The grandmothers say that if Blagovets comes, people will go green. Fresh nettle soup is prepared and vegetables are arranged in the middle of the table. For the first time, the girls knead a cake with honey, which they distribute to neighbors and relatives. New clothes are donned and fish, ritual bread, honey and onion pastry are placed on the festive table.
The girls find out if they will get married by putting tulips in water and waiting for three days. If they budge, they will get married by the end of the year.
At Annunciation people wake up early early to make the year rich. It's good to carry money in your pocket. It is believed that if a cuckoo cuckoos at you, you will be prosperous, you have to grab a coin. By the way the day passes and what you do during, you guess what it will be all year round.

It was believed that on the night before Blagovets out of nothingness the spirits of the dead, who hid a great treasure in their lifetime arise, and wherever lies a buried fortune in the late hours of the night, against Blagovets, money radiates a blue flame from underneath the ground. That is why the treasure hunters set out to go around mounds, dried up wells and desolate places, hoping to see the flame that will bring them wealth.
Also, on Blagovets the sky opens and wishes come true.
