PRESS RELEASE - HEJIRA PERFORMING IN NYC

Message: Don Baragiano composes & performs a non-traditional style.
It's in the Arab minor scale (called Hijaz). He is typically accompanied by
a Middle Eastern percussionist on dumbek, a belly dancer, & sometimes a vocalist.
Mr. Baragiano studied music theory at Aiken HS in Cincinnati, OH,
and attended the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music. For 3 years, he lived in Saudi Arabia, immersed in their culture, where he was an audio engineer with the Ministry of Finance in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. For the last 10 years, Don has been performing in the Seattle area with his world music band "Hejira."
"Hejira" has been selected to perform at 3 different venues for the
"Make Music New York" event on June 21st. www.makemusicny.org
