About "Sarasponda"
Although many people know Sarasponda as a summer camp or campfire song from the United States, Sarasponda was originally a spinning song from the Netherlands. The nonsense words were meant to mimic the sounds made by the spinning wheel when a person was spinning. If you've ever done a repetitive task, you probably noticed that singing a song can help keep the rhythm of your work and make that task more enjoyable.

This video shows images of kids spinning around the world to show how handwork - like spinning and weaving - is universal!
