ABOUT
The band was initially formed in 2016 when two young musicians met in Linz, Austria, while studying at the Bruckner University. One from Bayern (Aron), studying jazz guitar and having a strong will to dive deep into world music, and the other one from Greece (Odysseas), studying composition, playing bouzouki (a Greek folk string instrument), and singing. The second one's desire to find a partner to accompany him on his Greek tunes and the first one's open-mindedness and gypsy/jazzy influences were enough for the duo to develop its own special world music sound. The language barrier—since the lyrics are sung in Greek—was in a way overcome by the music and the strong atmosphere it creates, both for the musicians and for the audience. However, some songs are translated and sung in German. Later on, another musician also from Bayern (Sven) joined the formation with a double bass, providing the group with a solid ground for the music to lay on and a handful of humorous moments. The three of them are currently living and performing mostly in Austria and are in search of new places and people to share their music with. The multicultural environment they are living in always brings more influences into their music (Balkan, Minor Asia, Turkey, Armenia to name a few), so it's not only about accompanying Greek tunes anymore. If you like our music, we would be glad to come to find you and play for/with you until our voices exhaust and our fingers defy our brain's commands. Yamas (Greek Cheers)!
