Ondea Bandera first played and recorded live by Atabal in 1996 and included in Encuentro de Tambores a cd by Cuban group los Papines when they played the concert in Puerto Rico.

Now 2020 a Remix of the song is out - originally Tite Curet Alonso wrote and gave it to Hector Rodriguez -Atabal director (both now deceased) to play and record. The Remix maintains Tite's chorus lyrics while updating the message - plena's traditionally talk about recent topics. Caymmi, Hector's son and Atabal's director for the past years, along with plena singer Emanuel Santana - developed the lyric./ The remix maintains Tite's vibe but has an urban flow.
