A Platform for Ethnically and Culturally Inspired Music
About ""Creando Camiños" (Fernando Mosquera. OUTLANDER, 2015)"
Rosa Cedrón is an orbayo (a light rain), a breath of fresh air for the traditional Galician music. Her voice is capable of slowly penetrating to the core of the listener’s heart. As an artist she emits a beauty so attractive it envelops you in a halo of mystery that leaves you excited for what will come next. This song was composed with her voice in mind and what it symbolizes in relation to my understanding of Folk Music.
Pancho’s genius with the chords is internationally known and his skill with rhythms makes playing with him easy and fun. Pancho is a mix of many traditions. He is capable of imbuing new sounds with old music.
Rosa and Pancho are the perfect focus for a song where the voice shows you the way to Galicia. Once again, the Way to Santiago comes back to cross my path. Its call is too strong, too demanding for my soul, that it is inevitably pulled towards the Promised Land…
